Fundraising.
Welcome to my first time fundraising! I have really no idea what I’m doing but I do have some really cool people in my life who have encouraged me that it really isn’t so bad, so here we are!
YWAM does not have a collection or aid for fundraising, it is all autonomous for each individual. That means I have the opportunity to learn the full scale of fundraising and thinking through all the parts. Part one is sharing what I’m doing which I hope by now you know from my letters and blogs and from conversations. If you don’t, please reach out I would love to talk about it over coffee or if you’re far away, over Facetime, my favorite!
Part two is creating my website and thinking through all the logistics and ways to make it easy for you all to support me in anyway you can. I want to be super transparent about all of this so if you have any questions please reach out and ask. I have decided to ask for donations through the channels I have because I have sought advice from people who have had similar goals. I was told that if I did a gofundme page a portion of the donations go back to the company and that doesn’t sound great! I know it is a little strange not having an anonymous way to give and I do apologize for that. However, I can assure you I am not looking at the amount. I know God works and I am not worrying about this aspect but praising for every little thing! If you do have another way to give that makes you more comfortable please let me know!
The final part is updates. This will be showing people that when they support me they can keep up with all of the happenings as I go! I won’t just disappear and leave you wondering if your support actually made a difference. Through m website you can keep up with the progress of my fundraising and see all my shared praises! I just paid my initial deposit for the trip a few days ago which was about $200. I’m trying to fundraise $11,000 for my five months of training and serving. Not too bad!
This website is so fun! I am excited to have the opportunity to write and (attempt) to take photos of what is happening in Norway, in Papua New Guinea and in my life. This part also includes updating my blog to share how the fundraising portion is going!
Check back for updates!
